Welcome to Patrick Nied Photography!
I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer located in Seattle. Husband to a beautiful wife, and father to the world's cutest 2 year old boy. I've lived in Seattle for the past 10 years and love everything about this area. If we're not strolling around Greenlake or enjoying the sunset at Golden Gardens, we're probably hunkered down at our favorite Fremont Coffee shop. I love being a Wedding photographer, especially in the amazing scenery we have at our fingertips here in Seattle. Whether you're planning for rustic chic at a Woodinville winery, contemporary urban on a downtown sky rise rooftop, or DIY in the Cascades, let me document this once in a lifetime occasion for you and your family! - Patrick

Thornewood Castle Wedding | Martin + Olia | Seattle Wedding Photographer
April 3rd, 2016
Let me start this blog by saying how much I LOVE shooting weddings at Thornewood Castle! Nestled in a cozy neighborhood south of Seattle and just inland of the Puget Sound, this historic castle is a wonderfully romantic setting for a wedding. The bride and groom prep rooms are beautiful, the reception hall is magnificent with stunning windows, and the dining room is perfect for a grand meal for guests. However, nothing compares to the incredible garden grounds that overlook the red brick castle. So many amazing places for pictures there. Martin and Olia searched many months for the perfect venue to host their friends and family during their wedding day, and Thornewood captured their hearts instantly!
Martin and Olia are a great couple that I completely enjoyed working with. As many couples do, they met at work, although their situation was a little complicated since Olia's brother was, and still is, Martin's boss! Since he was an enthusiastic groomsman for their wedding, my guess is that he gave his blessing to the relationship a long time ago.
My team and I were treated so well by the friends and family of the couple. In fact, in the middle of the day when I pulled out my roast beef sandwich for lunch, Olia's sister came up to me, almost angry, and said "what are you doing!? You are at a Russian wedding! Sit down and eat with us." Happy to oblige...the food was amazing!
