Welcome to Patrick Nied Photography!

I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer located in Seattle. Husband to a beautiful wife, and father to the world's cutest 3 year old boy. I've lived in Seattle for the past 10 years and love everything about this area. If we're not strolling around Greenlake or enjoying the sunset at Golden Gardens, we're probably hunkered down at our favorite Fremont Coffee shop. I love being a Wedding photographer, especially in the amazing scenery we have at our fingertips here in Seattle. Whether you're planning for rustic chic at a Woodinville winery, contemporary urban on a downtown sky rise rooftop, or DIY in the Cascades, let me document this once in a lifetime occasion for you and your family! - Patrick

Seattle City Wedding | Kayla and Brian | Seattle Wedding Photographer

July 24th, 2016

Kayla and Brian were co-workers for two years, awkwardly sharing glances at each other from across the hall. Kayla admits to having a long time crush on Brian, but knew he had a girlfriend. When word got out that Brian was a free man, the two established a close friendship that grew stronger over a full year. Eventually that friendship grew into something more and a relationship blossomed. After dating for over a year, Brian decided it was time to pop the question. An avid planner, Brian made arrangements to rent a sailboat on Seattle's Lake Union with the hopes of a romantic sunset proposal. As the Universe and bad luck would have it, an unseasonable windstorm cancelled the boat ride the morning of. Brian quickly switched gears and instead drove Kayla out to a favorite park known for it's romantic walkways and ponds, only to find out it was closed for a private event! At this point, he left Kayla in the car to beg and plead with the park manager to let them in so that he could propose to his girlfriend! Either by luck or charm the couple made their way into the park and the rest is history. Kayla, who had no idea what was going on that morning, became suspicious when Brian was obsessed with getting into that park.

The couples wedding day was held at a Seattle Church, long attended by Brian's family. It was a beautiful spot with a super cute garden square for the ceremony. A peaceful and relaxing morning culminated in a perfectly prepped couple and a stunning bride! The window light bridal portraits I did with Kayla are some of my favorite to date! The entire bridal party and family headed over to Kubota Gardens for the majority of our photos, before heading back to the church for the ceremony. The wedding reception was held at Lake Union Cafe which featured a huge, central dance floor, copper and dark wood finishing, and of course a spectacular view of Lake Union. Brian and Kayla had warned me that their wedding was going to be a huge party, and they were not wrong! Their friends and family drank, danced, and laughed the night away in spectacular fashion. Thank you so much to both of you for trusting me with your big day!
