Welcome to Patrick Nied Photography!
I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer located in Seattle. Husband to a beautiful wife, and father to the world's cutest 3 year old boy. I've lived in Seattle for the past 10 years and love everything about this area. If we're not strolling around Greenlake or enjoying the sunset at Golden Gardens, we're probably hunkered down at our favorite Fremont Coffee shop. I love being a Wedding photographer, especially in the amazing scenery we have at our fingertips here in Seattle. Whether you're planning for rustic chic at a Woodinville winery, contemporary urban on a downtown sky rise rooftop, or DIY in the Cascades, let me document this once in a lifetime occasion for you and your family! - Patrick
Bellingham Farm Wedding | Calie and Nate | Seattle Wedding Photographer
Aug 6th, 2016
A beautiful summer wedding in Bellingham, Wa, about one hour north of Seattle. With colors of purple and cream, the entire wedding party perfectly accented against the rustic barn backdrop.
Calie and Nate grew up together in church and their families were close, always doing something together. Becoming the best of friends when they were teenagers, Nate asked Calie out when they were 16 years old, but she turned him down! They went back to being nothing but friends for 4 years, but as Calie got older, her feelings for Nate started to change. "Finally, I came to my senses and he asked me out again when I was 20 years old and we’ve been inseparable ever since!"
Early in 2015 Calie couldn’t help but to bug Nate that she was ready to get married. He told her to be patient and that it would probably happen that year, but it was definitely a secret when. So every day she would hope that he would finally propose, but it never happened. "A trip to Disneyland (uh, hello?! Happiest place on earth?) and Christmas time came and went and I had given up that a proposal was going to happen. I got it out of my head completely. New Year’s Eve rolled around, and we were frantically trying to clean our bedroom before we had guests come over for the night, when I turned around and found Nate on one knee. ‘Will you marry me?’ were the only shaky words that came out of his mouth. No romantic speech was said, but I absolutely loved it because it was perfect for us."
For the last few years Calie had a dream wedding board on Pinterest just waiting for the day that she finally got to actually plan it. She found ideas for decor, the guest & brides table, center pieces, chalkboards etc. that she loved. "If it wasn't for Pinterest, I would have been one lost bride! For our venue, we both already decided we wanted an outdoor wedding where all our guests can play yard games as it is one of our favorite things to do, but ideally would have an indoor/outdoor reception area. And that is exactly what we found in a friends property! Outdoor ceremony, indoor reception but with big open doors to play outside too. It was perfect!"
