Golden Gardens Engagement | Kayla + Brian | Seattle Wedding Photographer - Patrick Nied Photography

Welcome to Patrick Nied Photography!

I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer located in Seattle. Husband to a beautiful wife, and father to the world's cutest 2 year old boy. I've lived in Seattle for the past 10 years and love everything about this area. If we're not strolling around Greenlake or enjoying the sunset at Golden Gardens, we're probably hunkered down at our favorite Fremont Coffee shop. I love being a Wedding photographer, especially in the amazing scenery we have at our fingertips here in Seattle. Whether you're planning for rustic chic at a Woodinville winery, contemporary urban on a downtown sky rise rooftop, or DIY in the Cascades, let me document this once in a lifetime occasion for you and your family! - Patrick

Golden Gardens Engagement | Kayla + Brian | Seattle Wedding Photographer

November 22nd, 2015

Kayla and Brian are a gorgeous couple who I'm lucky enough to be shooting their Wedding for next year! Starting out as co-workers, Kayla admitted to having a crush on Brian for years, even though he had a girlfriend at the time. Once news got out that he was a free man, the two formed a fast friendship which blossomed into a strong relationship.

After over a year of dating Brian decided to pop the big question, but it did not prove to be an easy task. The plan of a romantic sunset proposal on a rented sailboat on Lake Union was cancelled the morning of due to an unseasonable windstorm! Quickly shifting gears, Brian drove them out to the Japanese Gardens at the UW Arboretum, only to find out that it was closed for a private event! At this point he left Kayla in the car to beg and plead with the park manager to let them in so he could propose to his girlfriend. Whether by luck or charm, the couple made there way into the park and the rest is history.

For their engagement shoot we did a mix of downtown Ballard and Golden Gardens, which perfectly suited Kayla's Boho Chic style. We were so lucky with beautiful sunshine on this crisp winter evening, giving us incredible light for our pictures!
